The objects depicted in this piece represent my love for competitive swimming. Ever since fourth grade, swimming has been an essential part of my daily life, and like art, it is a space where I can push away my worries of the outside world. For a few hours, it is just me and the water. From the Speedo goggles I wear every practice to the mini toy elephant gifted to me by my high school coaches before my first state meet, each item highlights the integral role swimming plays in my life.
