In this piece, I intended to highlight an essential part of Asian Americans’ life experiences and our determination to strive for higher. The intense focus of my little brother, Brandon, in this moment represents the persistence and commitment that are fundamental to the incredible accomplishments of many Asian American students. The detail of two birds enjoying his music reflects the significant impact of Asian American families’ success and their positive contribution to the communities. This painting speaks to the core of who we are as Asian Americans and presents a visual snapshot of our identity and values.
